Topic: Can someone please tell me the contents of the IDrive desktop icon

Message: Before I saw your latest post, I had already decided to uninstall IDrive. But as soon as I opened Control Panel > Programs and Features, I could see that there was no entry for IDrive. So the install had silently stopped part way. I re-launched the file from here:http://www.IDrive.com/downloads/IDriveWinSetup.exeThat worked fine :-)BTW: I wanted to test "Troubleshooter". I was redirected to here:https://support.microsoft....f927e1eb4dI clicked on the "Download troubleshooter" button. The usual "Downloads" popup appeared, but with the warning "...was blocked because this type of file can harm your device".I then tried Open, instead of Save, and got the same warning. We're lucky to have MS preventing us from running harmful MS EXE files :-)Thanks

Topic: Can someone please tell me the contents of the IDrive desktop icon

Message: C:\ProgramData is hidden by default. It sounds like IDrive didn't install properly on your computer. Did the installation succeed or did it fail and roll back?Maybe there's some remnant of the old version there and its causing the new installation to abort.Have you tried the Windows troubleshooter? It should fully remove any traces of IDrive, allowing you to do a clean install.

Topic: Can someone please tell me the contents of the IDrive desktop icon

Message: @SteveA:Actually, there's no file "id_win.exe" in: - C:\Program Files (x86)\IDriveWindows\There seems to be bits and pieces missing all over the place. For example, there's now no folder: C:\ProgramData\IDriveBTW: I think C:\ProgramData might normally be hidden. I don't know, because nothing is hidden on my laptop. Thanks

Topic: Can someone please tell me the contents of the IDrive desktop icon

Message: IDrive support are currently trying to fix the "$$$" bug in file paths, as described in one of my other posts here:During transfer, file numbers and sizes are double the correct valuesI was asked to uninstall my current version of IDrive, and then install the file in their email. The previous IDrive shortcuts on the desktop, and in the system tray were deleted during the uninstall of my previous version. The new IDrive has not installed any of these deleted shortcuts. Can someone pls do the following: - Tell me another way to launch IDrive - Tell me the contents of their IDrive desktop iconI tried the normal way of creating a program shortcut: In Program Files, right-click on the EXE file for the program, then select "Create Shortcut". That did not work for IDrive. It creates a shortcut, but it does not have the red IDrive logo, so it's invalid in some way.For example, here's how to see the contents of "Target" for the Edge browser: - Right-click on the desktop shortcut. - Copy target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe"If there's an entry for "Start in", please tell me that as well.Thanks.
