Have joined the forum because I am looking for a solution to an issue that seems as if it has been mentioned many times before: I have five computers all sync'd together, but they do not have the same files and folders as sub-folders of the IDrive-Sync folder, even though the IDrive icons for each of them reports: All files up to date. On the PC that has new files and folder on it that have not sync'd up, the files in question have a blue icon, indicating that they are in the process of sync'ing. However, they have been showing that for several hours, and they are all less than 6Mb in size. Nonetheless, after uninstalling IDrive on this PC, and then downloading and installing the latest version of IDrive, the task bar icon instantly says that all files are up to date, and the blue 'sync'ing' icons in File Explorer remain unchanged.
In addition, there are only about 270Gb in the online syncfolder on the IDrive website, but when I try to find out which files/folders have actually made it up there, via the web browser, it simply sits on the Sync page with a cursor irritatingly swishing back and forth without ever generating a list.
Does anyone have any clues about what is happening/not happening, please?
Thank you
Graham

OK, I may have resolved this: I assumed that there is a flag somewhere that states that Sync is up to date - even though it may not be. So I uninstalled IDrive from Windows 10, ran ccleaner to clean up the registry, used File Explorer to manually delete folders and files referring to IDrive (there were several!), rebooted the PC, and reloaded the latest copy of IDrive. Sync Down is now running, and when complete, I hope that sync Up will start.
For the moment, let's consider this one closed!

I have tried to get IDrive Sync to work on a Mac and was unsuccessful. I tried several attempts but always had missing files on the server and therefore missing files on one or the other computers. I gave up and am now trying to convince myself that Backup works without similar problems.

@dau1618
On the PC version, there is a folder called: C:\ProgramData\IDrive\IBCOMMON\<yourIDriveAccont>\"Activity Log" holding logs for all Sync and Delete operations.
If you can find the equivalent files on the Mac, they may contain a clue as to why some items are not being synchronized.

I have checked these files, and they only log details of Backups - nothing at all about Sync operations. I am having issues with both my Win10 pcs at the moment, they both show Sync Status: Retrying, which suggests that they are having problem logging in. However, they each back up successfully, which suggests no trouble logging in. Since I have not been able to find log files for Sync operations, it is hard to determine the problem. Can you help, please? Thank you, Graham

That's strange, that folder on mine (only) contains Sync logs.

Try searching from C:\ProgramData\IDrive\IBCOMMON\ for Sync*.txt, maybe its stashing them somewhere else.

Quite right, Steve, thank you! Here is what I get:
Sync time averages about 20 seconds, and no files at all are sync'd. The earliest entry for today shows 7 files waiting to be sync'd, 816MB, but by now this has grown to 79 files and 1.04GB. Is there a way of finding out what the problem is, please? Thank you, Graham

I wasn't actually using sync before these recent issues were raised on the forum, so I enabled it on three computers and put a few files and folders in, everything seemed to work.
Now I'm looking at it again, suddenly I'm seeing similar problems. I have a file that hasn't sync'd properly (blue icon), if I look online I have the swishing cursor (which doesn't ever seem to go away).
I'll dig a little deeper but it seems like something is fundamentally broken with the Sync feature.

I found a file C:\ProgramData\IDrive\IBCOMMON\user@domain\Log\TrayTrace.txt
that contains the following error:
21/05/2020 17:17:10:994 [INFORMATION] ShowVersionForm called for Path: C:\Users\xxxx\IDrive-Sync\ReadMe.txt 21/05/2020 17:17:12:547 [INFORMATION] Calling evs for version 21/05/2020 17:17:33:677 [FAILURE] ###Execute EVS exe: idevs: failed to connect to evs22.idrivesync.com: Connection timed out (116) ### 21/05/2020 17:17:33:693 [FAILURE] ###Execute EVS exe: idevs error: Version info is not available : path not found (code 31) at clientserver.c(173) [receiver=1.0.2.8] ### 21/05/2020 17:17:33:720 [INFORMATION] Loading to xmldoc 21/05/2020 17:17:33:743 [INFORMATION] Displaying FormFileVersionList
So looks like there may be a problem with one of IDrive's servers. ReadMe.txt was the file that had not sync'd properly, but it has the green check mark now.

Thanks, Steve. Have been out on a dog walk, and on return found your message above, checked both of my machines, and they are busily catching up on sync'ing - so it looks as if you are right, the problem was at the IDrive end, and has been fixed (at the start of the California day, which is not very reassuring!)
Much appreciate your help!
Graham
