IDrive has just closed my account for no valid reason!

I just got this email from my PAID cloud service with IDrive, that they're discontinuing my subscription for no legitimate reason. Here's a copy of their message, with my reply right at the top:

From: Brindlekin Tales (Zeke Krahlin)
Date: Thu, Jun 9, 2022 at 2:23 PM
Subject: Re: Cancellation of IDrive Account
To: IDrive Support <support@IDrive.com>

Excuse me, but I paid for another year. I have always kept auto-renewal
turned off until it came close to my next payment due. There is no
stipulation in your contract mandating auto-renewal remain active. I have
had auto-renewal turned off during all previous years I've been using your
service, so please correct your error.

Problem resolved! From IDrive Support earlier today:

Can you provide the following info to validate ownership of the account:

- The last four numbers of the credit card on file:
- The billing address or The expiration date:

Once validated, I will reactivate the account.

I'm a beginner. I'd be grateful if you could tell me if you actually lost data.

The reply from IDrive seems to suggest that you DID lose data.

Thanks

Re: IDrive has just closed my account for no valid reason!

You're quite welcome. I did, nonetheless, end my subscription with them, because my backup needs are relatively meager, and Google Drive meets my needs just fine, for a very low price. I don't mind backing up my data manually, whenever new files are added to my system.

I was very satisfied with IDrive, and continue to recommend it to others.

Re: IDrive has just closed my account for no valid reason!

Furthermore:

I was mistaken that my annual renewal was not yet due...I thought I had several more months remaining. I was wrong, I was a few days overdue. So I apologized to IDrive for my mistake. The only criticism I have of them now, is they didn't send me a warning that my next payment was soon due, and their notice about shutting down my account did not explain why...so that was confusing.

So if I had to rate them on a scale of 1 to 5 I'd give them 4-1/2 stars.
